Artist Statement
Glass reflects, distorts, absorbs, and refracts light depending on the color, texture, and shape. I focus on all these elements to create my art glass. So with glass as the medium, I use my graphic design knowledge and fine arts background to produce pieces that epitomize my fascination with light and color. I hope you will enjoy my work as much as I do creating it.
Each one of my pieces includes my signature. These pieces are entirely hand crafted and should not be confused with mass produced studio glass.

Biography
Born in 1954 and raised in rural Kansas, Jack spent his childhood working on his family’s dairy farm, and dreamt of moving to the “Big City” to pursue a career in the Arts.
After graduating with a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, Jack plied his artistic skills in Boston and New York.
Seeking greener (and hotter) pastures, Jack moved to Houston, Texas in 1985. While working in Graphics, he took graduate classes in Oil Painting at the University of Houston - Clear Lake, and began to develop his painting style.
Finally settling in San Diego in 1988, Jack now works for himself as a graphic designer and fused glass artist. He has shown his art in galleries, restaurants and retail locations.
